Van Halen's Dreams

I don't exactly remember how it went down, but when I heard about Eddie Van Halen's passing, I had to stop and take a beat. This wasn't one of those moments where you feel the end of an era, as what many probably felt with the recent passing of Justice Ginsburg. But for myself, and I imagine many people my age or a decade older with some interest in heavy epic guitar music, this was a personal loss.

Memory Triggers

Memory is one of those funny things. They come up without warning from time to time, when you hear the odd song, smell a specific scent, or eat something specific. That is to say, memory seems to be intimately tied into the senses.

Currently Reading: Microserfs

I've been spending more time reading these past few days, which is something that I think many of my friends have also been doing. Well, either that, or they're catching up on their Netflix backlog. Or if they're smart, they're catching up on their sleep, because sleep is amazing. 

A River Runs Through It

It has been exactly four weeks since the Luzon quarantine, and everybody I've been speaking with via social media is either going stir crazy due to being stuck indoors for this long, or working very hard to adapt, although I'm happy to say that I haven't done either of the two, mostly because I'm incredibly used to being incarcerated stuck at home for long periods of time, and that I'm not really somebody who looks to the great outdoors for something to do; if my mind can keep myself entertained for extended periods, then being cooped in was never really a problem.
